Who We Are
MCSALC is a nonprofit coalition of operators, stakeholders, and advocates committed to uplifting Maryland’s small assisted living communities. We provide tools, connections, and a collective voice to ensure these vital care settings are equipped to deliver high-quality, home-like services to seniors and disabled residents.
Vision
To be the leading force for equity, innovation, and excellence in Maryland’s small assisted living communities—where providers are supported, residents thrive in dignity, and small homes are recognized as essential pillars of the long-term care continuum.
Mission
The Maryland Coalition of Small Assisted Living Communities, Inc. (MCSALC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to uniting, empowering, and advocating for small, residential-style assisted living communities across Maryland. We strive to enhance quality care, support providers, and promote sustainable, community-based long-term care through education, policy advocacy, and resource sharing.
Our Goals
- Advocate for small ALF-friendly legislation and funding
- Equip providers with regulatory and operational tools
- Create a support network for peer collaboration
- Enhance public and professional awareness of small homes’ value
What We Stand For
Our work is rooted in the belief that smaller care homes offer something truly special—personalized attention, a home-like atmosphere, and deep community connection. Through every training, resource, and advocacy effort, we aim to ensure these homes not only survive—but flourish. Whether you’re just starting your journey or have years of experience, MCSALC is here to walk alongside you, every step of the way.
